Ludwig van Beethoven’s Sonata No. 5 in F major for violin and piano, Opus 24, “Spring Sonata”

After Beethoven's death, Sonata No. 5, one of his most famous violin sonatas, was renamed "Spring Sonatas." Because this extroverted composition oozes the delight of living through spring and its melodious abundance, the publisher gave it this descriptive title. Not only is this piece a tribute to spring, but it also marks the 250th anniversary of the composer's birth.

In the backstage of the GNO, where the image of the city spring interacts with the sound of the Beethoven spring, Michael Korokotronis, second principal violin of the GNO Orchestra, meets the mysterious world-famous pianist Titos Gveris. The first online festival, "Exit: Spring," will take place from May 17 to June 30, 2020, and will be hosted by GNO artistic director Giorgos Koumendakis during the pandemic, as well as one recorded dance performance. Video performances in all festivals focus on the expectations of spring, the revitalization of nature and the emergence of new things. The festival is made possible through a grant from the Stavrosni Arcos Foundation (SNF) to increase artistic support to the Greek National Opera.

There is also (Love Road), the nostalgic "Elegy" by Massenet (Elegy), the fascinating opera "Friend Fritz" aria "Son pochi fiori" by Pietro Mascagni (only a few flowers).
