With over 50 beaches, you’ll be spoilt for choice. If you prefer privacy, natural free beaches and calm, head to the small & large sandy beaches of Aghios Sostis, Ftelia (popular among surfers), Fokos and Merchia. For glamourour beach experiences visit Panormos, mykonos luxury villas Paraga, Paradise and Platys Gyalos.
With regular streams of top celebs, designers, millionaires and influencers visiting, Mykonos is filled with designer shops selling everything your heart could dream of. The place to shop is in Chora, as you walk along the central ‘matogiania’ road where you’ll find clothes, jewellery, accessories, art and home décor items by some of the world’s most exclusive creators – considered the most famous shopping area in the world. Indeed rents are sky-high in this street, which is considered one of the most famous shopping spots in the world.
There are several noteworthy museums top visit on Mykonos, that present the
island’s rich and interesting history. Visit Lena’s House near Tria Pigadia in
Chora to see an example of a normal Mykonos residence from the 19th
Century, with furnishgings and décor. Also don’t miss the Folklore Museum in
Kastro near Paraportiani Church (also well worth visiting). The Archaeological
Museum near the port is where you’ll see ancient artifacts discovered in
different periods around the island.
